The donations received last fall ensured that we would have a successful season. Here’s how the financial support has impacted our team:
- We just completed a 4-day training trip in Miami Beach, FL, where we rowed twice a day and had tremendous success. We logged 70 miles of rowing in four days, plus we were able to initiate some great team bonding activities and grow our strength, internally.
- We purchased a new set of oars this winter, which will give our NCAA Championships boats some free speed, as long as they continue the training.
- We purchased 4 additional GPS oarlocks for our team, which gives us real-time data on power, angles, force, speed, etc. These take our training to a new/elite level.
In late March, we will use some of the fundraised proceeds to travel to Oklahoma City and race against six other Division II teams, including the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the country. In short time, I expect Jefferson to be #1 or #2 in the country.
You all helped make this team better. I will keep you updated on our season.
